The Language Examination Centres will always issue an invoice for the examination fee paid in electronic or paper form! This is the document without which it is NOT possible to claim the exam fee back!)

22. How can I best approach the school?

The IFL Private Language School is located in Tiszaújváros at Hajdú tér 7. There is a dead-end street leading to the school, which leads to the teachers' parking lot of the local Tiszaújváros Széchenyi István Elementary School and the parking lot of the Tanuszoda.

Parking in front of the school is free!

23. Is there a test during the class?

Of course! In language lessons, almost every time, new vocabulary is taught, which consist of smaller, shorter, easy-to-do exercises that are written at the beginning of the lesson. This is important for the future, as it assures the teacher that the student is prepared for the lessons and can integrate what he or she has learned into his or her studies.

24. How many hours of language learning are required for the basic, intermediate and advanced levelexams?

For the basic language examination, 300 contact hours are usually required. For the intermediate level you need at least 540 contact hours, while for the advanced level you need about 800 hours starting from the beginner level.

Attention! The above figures depend on the individual! Some students are able to achieve an excellent result in a fraction of this time, while others need even more hours to achieve the desired result!

25. At what age can I take a language test?

Anyone (Hungarian or foreign, as long as they are not a native speaker of English/German/Dutch/Spanish etc. - depending on the language of the exam) who is 14 years old in the year of application can apply for the exam.

However, it is important that you must have a valid identity card or passport to take the test! You will not be able to start the exam without one!

26. When is my exam successful?

To pass the exam, you must achieve 60% of the maximum score, but you must also achieve 40% in each of the sections (five in the bilingual version (translation) and four in the monolingual version)!

However, it is not compulsory for a complex examination to achieve 60% in the "written" and "oral" sections of the Hungarian accredited examination system. The "written" and "oral" exams can therefore compensate each other, if the above 40% is reached, only the overall result of the whole exam counts for the success of the complex exam.

In addition to the complex examination, if the examination was only partially successful, a separate state-recognised oral or state-recognised written certificate may be obtained (in which case the above conditions must apply to the written or oral parts of the examination). Certificates are issued automatically according to the results.

If you apply for a separate written or oral test, the conditions are the same, but of course only the parts of the written or oral test are counted.

27. Does the 40% threshold apply to examination sections or tasks?

One of the conditions for success is that each of the sections (five in the bilingual version and four in the monolingual version) must be at least 40%.

  • The written test consists of reading comprehension, writing skills and, in the case of bilingual tests, translation.

  • The oral test includes listening comprehension and speaking skills.

The pass mark of 40% is the average of the tasks in the test part, i.e. there is no pass mark for each task within the test part.

28. Can I apply for a separate oral or a separate written test?

Most language examinations can be taken as a complex examination, but you can also apply for a separate written examination or a separate oral examination.

29. When and how can I find out the results?

You can find out the results at the latest on the 30th day after the test at the test centre or on the test centre's website. Many examination centres use individual codes to preserve anonymity.

30. Can I use a dictionary during the exam?

In most cases, yes, but if you want to take an internationally recognised exam, you should be aware that most of them only allow monolingual dictionary use, while the Hungarian state-recognised exams allow bilingual dictionary use. It depends on the type of the exam!
